A Fantastic Book!

A friend of mine lent me her copy of "The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch. He is the professor from Carnegie Mellon, who, when diagnosed with terminal Pancreatic Cancer, gave one last lecture aimed at leaving a legacy for his three children. This is the best book I have read this year. It is funny, engaging, poignant, and sad. I had a very hard time putting it down. I totally recommend this book (take note Alaskan book club members).

The Invaders!

The ants go marching one-by-one hurrah!
The ants go marching one-by-one hurrah!
The ants go marching one-by-one, the little one stops to ask directions to my kitchen.....

It has been raining for 3 days, and will continue to rain for the next week. That means that the one microscopic crumb on my counter will attract the three million ants that live in my back yard (ok, a slight exaggeration, only a thousand ants will come). In any case, they are not deterred by windex, ant spray, poison or any other nefarious means we use against the little creepers. I cannot wait for the sun to shine again!

Where does my time go?

As I'm updating my calendar it hits me that the majority of my time between the hours of 3pm and 8pm are spent watching my kids play soccer, run track, wrestle, school appts., ortho appts. and the like. No wonder I feel frazzled. On top of that I am working 30 hours a week and attending school full time. This might be a good week to play the Lotto.

Oops!

Sorry folks, I forgot to id the people in the pictures. I logged a comment at the bottom of the page with names.

On my way home

I'm sitting in the Vegas airport and it occurs to me that we really do live in a small world. Really...it only takes an airplane ride to visit family. Why don't we see each other more often? I will post pictures as soon as I receive them.

A new blog!

I have been persuaded to give blogging a try. It seems like scrap booking, which I don't do, but I do like creative outlets so here we go.
